Community Educator Resources

Thanks to the generous grant from The Community Foundation of Jacksonville, Friends of A1A now offers educational resource materials for use in promoting environmental education and appreciation of the arts in nature. The Activity Guide is available in limited quantities upon contacting Friends of A1A 904-425-8055 or email Sallie_OHara@scenica1a.org. Each year an Environmental Education Fair / Kids Ocean Day is held to highlight community awareness to preserve and protect our A1A Byway.

Bird Island Park is a perfect microcosm of the A1A corridor reflecting Freshwater Marsh, Coastal Dunes (Strands) and Upland Hammock habitats. The activity guide may be used as a fun teaching guide while exploring the parks along A1A.
